About Coach Gwen

Thank you for landing here at Leader Who Leads and finding out more about Coach Gwen.  One thing about me?  I am serious about showing leaders how to develop their leadership skills.

Often, those in leadership positions seek me out when they encounter a problem that has proven difficult to solve.  And there are those who seek me for advice when they are preparing to move to the next level by taking on a new position.

An encourager by nature, I love to inspire people to be their very best, especially those in leadership positions because they have the ability to influence those they lead.

My mission is to help leaders ramp up the learning curve and avoid unnecessary pitfalls along their journey of becoming a leader who leads.

With 20+ years in Fortune 500 companies and in entrepreneurial ventures, I am fortunate to work with leaders at all levels within an organization.

These rich experiences provided the environment for developing leadership skills necessary for success both in career and in life.

My Leadership Journey

“Thankfully, I have some great role models and mentors who left a lasting imprint on who I am today.

I am very fortunate to have the support of those who could see my natural talents and care enough to nurture those talents.

I have had the opportunity to meet leaders at all levels, in a variety of countries on several continents.

Leadership Journey

Now I get the privilege of sharing what I have learned, and continue to learn, with leaders who are serious about developing both personally and professionally.  My desire is to help leaders grow and move from survival to significance to make a lasting impact in the lives of those they lead.

I have had some successes along the way, but I have learned the most from my failures.  (At least they seemed like failures at the time.)  What I learned from those failures has made a lasting impression on my life.  That is what I will share with you.

So, learn from my mistakes and avoid unnecessary pitfalls.  That will allow you to focus your energy on overcoming those obstacles that are inevitable.

Leaders who lead make continual progress along the leadership continuum.  They are not perfect, but they are persistent.

If you do that, I will be a very happy camper.”

What's Happening Now!

Check out the video below to hear about the exciting things I am involved in as we speak.  I had such a fun time sitting down with Dewayne Roberts for an interview on his Leaders SHIFT Podcast.

Take a listen to hear about how I got to where I am today and some of the things I am working on now.

You will see that I am working on a number of projects that are very near and dear to my heart, such as:

  • Leadership Development
  • Zapping The Gender Pay Gap (Podcast)
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging

To share just a little more about the passion projects I am working on:

  • Leadership Development - What started as a dare has evolved into what you see here today as Leader Who Leads.  I will be publishing my first book "Called to Lead" in the Fall, so please be on the lookout for more information on that.  In addition to my book, customized leadership development training is in the works too.
  • Zapping The Gender Pay Gap - I launched a podcast to tackle the issue of the pernicious gender pay gap.  Studies show time and time again that women are consistently underpaid, underestimated and underrated.  Leaders can help tackle and eradicate this problem where it exists.  To check it out, especially some alarming facts about it, please take a look at the Top Challenges Women Face.
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) - When people come into the workplace, people bring their biases with them.  The role of the leader is to ensure that individual biases, both overt and covert do not derail the team.  Working well together is a must, and the leader plays a significant role in bringing a group of individuals together to become a high performing team.  I had the opportunity to participate on a panel discussing our thoughts on how DEIB impacts the bottom line.  To hear my insights, please do so HERE.
